iQ Laboratory ("iQ Labs," "We," "Us," or "Our") operates iq-laboratory.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding that information. By using our Site, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. 

iQ Labs serves architects, general contractors, interior designers, laboratory planners, and other business professionals ("You"). We do not knowingly collect personal information from consumers outside of a business context. 

This Policy may change from time to time. Your continued use of our services (the “Services”) after we make changes as described here is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check the Policy periodically for updates. 

 

2. Information We Collect 

Information You Provide Directly 

When you fill out our contact form or otherwise communicate with us, we may collect: 

  • Full name 

  • Company name and job title 

  • Business email address 

  • Phone number 

  • Project details and message content 

Email Subscription (Launching Soon) 

We are in the process of adding an email subscription option to our Site. When this feature launches, we will collect: 

  • Business email address 

  • Name (optional) 

  • Company and role (optional) 

Subscription will be opt-in only. You will be required to actively check a box or click a confirmation link to be added to our mailing list. We will not add you based solely on a contact form submission. This section will be updated when the feature goes live. 

Information Collected Automatically 

When you visit our Site, we automatically collect certain technical data, including: 

  • IP address and approximate geographic location 

  • Browser type, version, and operating system 

  • Pages visited, time on page, and referral source 

  • Device type and screen resolution 

This data is collected through cookies and tracking technologies operated by Google Analytics and HubSpot. See Section 6 for details. 

 

3. Data Security 

We use commercially reasonable administrative, physical, and technical measures designed to protect your personal data from accidental loss or destruction and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. However, no website, mobile application, system, electronic storage, or online service is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of your personal data transmitted to, through, using, or in connection with the Services. In particular, email, texts, and chats sent to or from the Services may not be secure, and you should carefully decide what information you send to us via such communications channels. Any transmission of personal data is at your own risk. The safety and security of your information also depends on you. You are responsible for taking steps to protect your personal data against unauthorized use, disclosure, and access. 

 

4. How We Use Your Information 

We use the information collected for the following purposes: 

  • To respond to inquiries, quote requests, and project consultations 

  • To route and manage leads through our sales process (via HubSpot CRM) 

  • To analyze website traffic and improve Site performance (via Google Analytics) 

  • To send follow-up communications relevant to your inquiry, if you have provided contact information 

  • To send marketing and product communications to subscribers who have explicitly opted in (when email subscription launches) 

  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms 

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. 

 

5. Legal Basis for Processing 

Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing your information, we rely on the following: 

  • Legitimate interests: responding to business inquiries, managing our sales pipeline, and improving our website 

  • Consent: where you have expressly opted into email communications — including our forthcoming subscription list, which will require explicit opt-in before any marketing emails are sent 

  • Legal obligation: where processing is required by applicable law 

 

6. Third-Party Services and Data Processors 

Google Analytics 

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our Site. Google Analytics collects usage data including page views, session duration, traffic sources, and device information. This data is processed by Google LLC and subject to Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com). You may opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. 

HubSpot 

We use HubSpot, Inc. as our customer relationship management (CRM) platform. When you submit a contact form on our Site, your information is stored and managed within HubSpot. HubSpot may also place cookies on your device to track browsing behavior for lead intelligence purposes. When our email subscription feature launches, HubSpot will also serve as our email marketing platform for opted-in subscribers. We do not sell, rent, transfer, share or trade your personal information to any third party for their own marketing purposes. 

 

7. Email Communications 

Inquiry Follow-Up 

If you submit a contact form, we may follow up by email as part of our normal sales and customer service process. This is not a marketing list — it is a direct response to your inquiry. 

Email Subscription List (Launching Soon) 

We will soon offer an optional email subscription for product updates, industry insights, and iQ Labs’ news. The following rules will govern this list: 

  • Opt-in required: You must actively subscribe. Submitting a contact form does not add you to the list. 

  • Confirmation: We will use a confirmed opt-in (double opt-in) process where you verify your subscription via a confirmation email before being added. 

  • Unsubscribe: Every marketing email will include a one-click unsubscribe link. Requests will be honored within 10 business days. 

  • No list sharing: Subscriber data will not be sold, rented, traded, transferred or shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes. 

  • Frequency: We will communicate the expected email frequency at the point of sign-up.

8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies 

Our Site uses the following types of cookies: 

  • Essential cookies: required for basic Site functionality 

  • Analytics cookies: used by Google Analytics to collect usage data 

  • Marketing/tracking cookies: used by HubSpot to identify returning visitors and track engagement 

You may disable cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect Site functionality.  

 

9. Data Retention 

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this Policy or as required by law: 

  • Contact form submissions: retained in HubSpot for as long as you remain an active or prospective business contact, or until you request deletion 

  • Email subscribers: retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion 

  • Analytics data: retained per Google Analytics and HubSpot platform default retention settings 

You may request deletion of your data at any time using the contact information set forth below in Section 13. 

 

10. Your Rights and Choices About Your Information 

This section describes mechanisms you can use to control certain uses and disclosures of your information and rights you may have under state law, depending on where you live. 

  • Right to Know: You may request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal data we have collected about you, and how we use and share it. 

  • Right to Delete: You may request deletion of personal data we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions. 

  • Right to Opt Out of Sale, Sharing, or Targeted Advertising: We do not sell personal information. However, we do share data with service providers (Google, HubSpot) as described above, which may constitute "sharing" under California law. You may opt out by contacting us directly. 

  • Right to Opt Out of Email Marketing: You may opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us directly. 

  • Right to correct: You may ask us to correct inaccurate information that we have about you. 

  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.To submit a request, contact us at the information set forth below in Section 13. We will respond within 45 days. 

 

11. Children's Privacy 

Our Site is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, please contact us immediately and we will delete it. 

 

12. Changes to This Policy 

We may update this Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, or legal requirements. Planned updates include: 

  • Addition of full email subscription terms when that feature launches on our redesigned website 

  • Any changes to our analytics or CRM tooling 

When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
